Congratulations for Ice Breaker Speech

Congratulations for the Ice Breaker speech done by Matt Zadow, a newest club member who joined the club in July. Matt spoke about his favorite books and his goals in Toastmaster. This was the second Ice Breaker speech  done by the new member this summer. New members are actively participating to the club meetings to take the benefit of Toastmaster to maximum, using our club's "mutually supportive and positive learning environment" to improve the speaking skills and the confidence. Well done, Matt!

All members at the meeting spoke at the Table Topics and John Tallet was voted as the best Table Topics speaker of the meeting. Congrat John!

Barrhaven Toastmasters hosted Open House on July 28

Congratulations for all who participated in Open House meeting on July 28. The meeting was a great success with 6 guests in attendance. Our guest speaker, Jenny Murphy broke the ice with her speech on "our five senses" while our second guest speaker, Beverley Miranda, told her Toastmaster journey and "confidence and skills" she gained through the TM program.  All enjoyed the two great guest speakers speeches.

Message from our President

Club Executives 2010-2011

“We must become the change we want to see”, these word by Mahatma Gandhi apply to all those who yearn for things to be different. With that in mind, I invite each and every member of our club to be the change they wish to see in the club. If you like well attended and high-energy meetings, then attend often and bring your passion. If you learn from good speakers and evaluators, then strive to excel and become a role model for others. If you enjoy the company of others, come with a positive attitude and celebrate each other’s progress. Our theme for the year is - COMMIT to excellence, CONNECT with your audience, and CELEBRATE your success. Your new executive will work hard to create a supportive and enjoyable learning environment. We have a great location, several experienced mentors, and a wonderful mix of new members. Go ahead, challenge yourself, and be the change you’d like to see in yourself, in others, in the club, in the community, in the world!

Hello Toastmasters,
